We are in a Manga High Fai-To against a school in Hawaii called Kamehameha! Go Crusaders!
Eighth graders will have a test on Monday, October 15, 2012 over one and two step equation solving, combining like terms, simplifying expressions, the distributive property, and identifying types of solutions as one solution, infinitely many solutions or no solution. We will review in class on Friday.
Students in 6th, 7th, & 8th grade are in a global math challenge in the web 2.0 program known as Manga High. This challenge, called a Fai-To (figh-Toe), is against a school located in Canada. The challenge could be over in as little as 5 days, or as long as 9 days, depending upon the activity and intensity of the students' effort.
Two weeks ago, we were in a challenge against a school in Ireland, and I am proud to say that our CR-B students won against Ireland, and captured their digital trophy for our digital math trophy case. Wish us luck in our latest challenge! Students are seeing assignments appear in their inboxes this week. Using the power of Google Forms, students can submit their homework electronically.
