Sifteo Cubes. I received a grant from the Iowa Council of Teachers of Mathematics to bring this technology to our students. You can see it is quite engaging!
Geometer's Sketchpad
Sixth grade is working with Geometer's Sketchpad. They learned to construct a square, and then found midpoints to create this optical illusion of hypotenuse squares.
Here is a video that will help explain why using technology in the classroom is so important.
The pictures above show students working through the Lemonade Stand challenge, gathering data, importing into a spreadsheet, and calculating profit/loss scenarios.
Ghost Blaster
It's homecoming week at school, and in today's Anything Goes day, students in 6th grade were challenged to beat the clock by playing Ghost Blaster, a fast-paced game with multiples.
The winning team! Congratulations on constructing the tallest, freestanding structure in our Marshmallow Challenge.
Circumference Tree
Students created this Circumference tree to experience measurement, symmetry, surface area, circumference, volume, rotational symmetry, bisecting angles, congruent and similar polyhedrons, and inscribed polygons.
The picture below shows a close-up of some of our 120 degree rotational snowflakes and our 72 degree rotational symmetrical star decorations.

Oreo Cookie Investigation
Students were challenged in this Oreo Cookie investigation to use math for determining whether a Double Stuf TM cookie is truly double stuffed.
This investigation caused students to use their knowledge of circumference, area and volume.
