September 30, 2013: Now that we have reviewed solving one-step equations, today's lesson advanced students' knowledge to solving two-step equations with one variable. Students learned to undo the equation using the inverse of the order of operations. The acronym we use for order of operations is PEMDAS so the inverse, or opposite is SADMEP. The lesson slideshow attached describes this process, and the assignment worksheet is attached.

Today, we worked on two math skills through gaming. in my blog (ipodmath.blogspot.com) students were asked to practice problem solving and geometry through Hooda Math rotate and roll, and work on comparing rational numbers and working with a number line in Hooda Math math defense.
