Go to student resources, choose chapter 6, then online resoucres, and scroll down to homework video tutor. Watch ALL of these videos. We will take a second version of this test on Tuesday.

September 13, 2013: After reviewing yesterday's assignment, students completed a set of Pythagorean Theorem questions on TenMarks (they have their own usernames and passwords), and when completed, students were directed to my blog (ipodmath.blogspot.com) and were asked to try to complete as many levels as possible on Hooda Math Rotate and Roll. The TenMarks is an assignment, so if you were absent, this is required.
September 12, 2013: Working in the coordinate plane today with coordinate pairs. Finding distance between points utilizing the Pythagorean Theorem (standards 8G7 and 8G8). We had many notes (get them from the slideshow below), we did the guided problem solving sheet together in class as a lab, and then there is an assignment worksheet, due tomorrow. You can download everything here. If you are absent, you will want to do both the lab and the worksheet and turn them in for points. Make sure to also get all the terms in your notes.

September 5, 2013: Learning about the Triangle Inequality Theorem today. Students took notes on the definition of the theorem, the logistics behind it, and learned a "shortcut" to apply the theorem. Students then practiced the theorem in a variety of examples. Lastly, students crafted a journal entry and emailed it in detailing their learning take-aways from the day, complete with definitions, examples and explanations. Students made sense of problems and persevered in solving them through a task called Chroma Splash. No assignment.

Then each student did one problem accurately proving they can turn fractions into their equivalent decimal form. Period 6 also completed their google form assignment.
August 22, 2013: Working with rational numbers today. Students took notes over three vocabulary terms, (Rational number, terminating decimal, and repeating decimal) and worked through writing equivalent fractions and decimals. In class period 5, a google form was completed (check your email). In class period 6, we did not get quite as far, so the google form will be completed in class on Friday.
